Edge chokes on WP login

Whether I want to login to one of my websites (at different hosts) or WordPress.org, the browser freezes as soon as I start typing my login name. No problems in Chrome or Firefox and I just checked, but my Edge is the latest version.

I’ve had quite some problems with Edge crashing along the day, but the WP login screen crashes even when I open Edge new and try to login on the only active tab.

Any thoughts?
