exclude products (category or tag) from shop page

Hi all
I’d love to be able to exclude certain products (by category or tag) from the main shop page, and instead feature them on their own tag or category page.

i.e. ‘bulk’ products would not show in the main shop page, but would show on either http://www.store.com/product-tag/bulk/ or http://www.store.com/product-category/bulk/

Is there a way, simple I’m hoping, or otherwise, to achieve this?
