Bug: It is allowing users to join the meeting before the start time

The plug in used to work to not allow users to join the meeting before the start time but now it does not. Now users are able to join a meeting at any time even if start time is far in the future, which should not happen. This makes the plug in completely unusable for my purpose and I am scrambling to find a fix.
Meetings are created directly in Zoom with setting “Allow participants to join 5 minutes before start time”.
Embedded on my site with shortcode [zoom_api_link meeting_id=”XXX” link_only=”no”]
I am using Join Via Web Brower button.
