YASQ (yet another slideshow question)

I did a bit of searching on this topic, but the results are overwhelming and a bit off-topic for what I need, so I look to y’all (channeling my inner Texan there) for some assistance.
I’m going to build a a very simple site on a sub-domain of my WordPress site. I want to keep the page by invitation-only and the only content will be a slide-show of vintage photographs.

The “Special Feature” I would like, in addition to the invitation function, is for the photo viewer to be able to add comments and details. Details like year, location, description, people recognized etc. If I could have fields to fill-in under each slide that would be perfect. I’d like multiple viewers to add their own memories to any photo.

The photos are from my Mom (b.1911), Dad (b.1910) and family, and range from 19th century to early 2000s (Mom went to her reward in 2004)
I would like to invite my siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews etc to join the page and provide any photo information they may know.

I ask for this here, looking for folks having experience with, and opinion of, plug-ins or other tools which would help me get this up and running.
