Remove page title block | WordPress.org

on my home page i’ve got a white box which is where I think the page title would go. I’ve suppressed page titles from appearing but I can’t get rid of the box.

The problem is now worse as I put the site title above the navigation bar and now I have the box where the site title formerly sat and I can’t get rid of that. It’s in the stage site so I can’t show you that one. However you should get an idea from the url version above.

Some help that i have read indicates that if you go to Appearance – editor you can edit from there. I don’t have appearance – editor, I do have appearance – theme file editor, which doesn’t seem to help me.
