6.2.2: Deleting a plugin using the bulk actions didn’t work

I wanted to remove one of my plugins from my WordPress install. So I selected it from the list, chose “delete” from the bulk actions, and clicked Apply. It came up and prompted me to make sure I really wanted to delete, which I confirmed.

It did not delete the plugin. I tried twice to do it this way.

So I then clicked the “Deactivate” link on the plugin, followed by the “Delete” link. It asked for confirmation, and when I confirmed the plugin was gone.

I am not sure why it failed, so don’t know if this is actually a bug. Would it have been necessary to deactivate it before doing the bulk delete? If so, then there should have been a notification informing me that the delete was canceled and indicating the plugin must be deactivated before it can be deleted.
