Find WP Engine at WordCamp US!

WP Engine is proud to be a Super Admin sponsor at WordCamp US 2023! Taking place just outside Washington D.C. in National Harbor, MD, the three-day conference will provide an opportunity to network with other WordPress experts, learn about the latest products and innovations that are shaping the future of the world’s favorite CMS, give back to the community we all love, and—as always—snag some free swag.

This year’s WCUS will take place August 24–26 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, and if you’re planning to be there, make sure to stop by Booth #301 and say hello to your friends at WP Engine!

As you’re probably aware, WP Engine has a bit of a reputation for throwing some of the best WordPress parties, so make sure you RSVP to join us at TopGolf in National Harbor for a free networking event!

WordCamp US unofficially kicks off on August 24 with a Contributor Day. WP Engine will have a handful of employees in attendance, so feel free to say hello as we all work together to leave WordPress better than we found it. Contributor Day starts at 8:30 for new contributors or 9:30 for veteran contributors. Make sure you fill out this form before heading to the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center to contribute.

If you’ve never participated in a Contributor Day before, don’t worry—there are plenty of ways to give back, including both technical and non-technical tasks.

Technical tasks could include:

  • Testing and reporting bugs on the WordPress core software, themes, and plugins
  • Writing and submitting patches for bugs
  • Designing or developing a WordPress theme or plugin to share on WordPress.org
  • Working on the WordPress mobile apps

Non-technical tasks could include:

  • Writing or improving WordPress documentation
  • Translating documents or videos (including subtitles)
  • Responding to questions in support forums
  • Creating or improving WordPress lesson plans for instructors
  • Taking and submitting photos for the Openverse

Plus, your participation in Contributor Day gives you the opportunity to meet other contributors, hone your skills, and expand your professional network in a collaborative, high-energy environment.

On the first official day of WordCamp, the WP Engine booth (#301) will be abuzz with energy as visitors get the opportunity to win a t-shirt as well as a few larger prizes, including a pair of Beats Pro headphones and a PS5! This year’s design features an icon that resembles the lights of the National Harbor Ferris Wheel which is just a short walk from the convention center.

Stop by our booth to win a WP Engine WordCamp US t-shirt

Ask us about anything, whether it’s questions about some of your favorite developer tools—like ACF and Local—or simply why we love WordPress so much! Other topics we love to discuss include, headless WordPress, eCommerce, our suite of builder tools, and helping you find a smarter way to WordPress.

Make sure to plan your day so that you can attend the sessions that mean the most to you. WordPress industry experts will discuss everything from NASA’s recent web modernization efforts to improving accessibility in design to the benefits of teaching WordPress to high school students!

Then, that evening, join WP Engine and WordPress experts from across the country at an RSVP-required Topgolf event! We’ll have plenty of fun and food, so make sure you reserve your spot now.

After spending the evening with us at Topgolf, make to get some sleep and be right back at WordCamp on the morning of August 26 to hear WordPress Executive Director Josepha Haden Chomphosy speak to some important conversations happening in the WordPress ecosystem—as well as the ways these discussions will shape the future of WordPress.

Other notable topics you may want to attend include the Anatomy of an Accessible Navigation Menu, Using AI to Successfully Deliver an Authentic Content Creation Process, Mastering Your WordPress Information Architecture, and the Present and Future Applications of WordPress Playground.

All this information and more will fill up your day before Matt Mullenweg’s closing presentation, in which he will discuss the benefits of WordPress’ open-source ecosystem and why it is now and will remain the favorite operating system of developers the world over.
