Widget issue: “There are no upcoming events” (in v6.1.2.2)

This is the reopening of the “There are no upcoming events” issue: the homepage is a feed of the latest posts and when you navigate to the page of older posts, the widget starts to show no upcoming events – details here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/widget-issue-there-are-no-upcoming-events/

Unfortunately, was not fixed this issue persists also in the latest version (6.1.2.2) of this plugin and appears to be an issue also with the default “Twenty Sixteen” theme.
