Is it possible to prevent cache with predefined ESI nonce?

Hello, I need to avoid cache occupying an ESI predefined by Theme (it is in the official github list, Extra Theme):

rating_nonce

I was thinking about forcing it to be private, so that I can then change the TTL of the private cache to 0, so that section is never cached. From what I understand the entire cache is public by default and shouldn’t break anything. But I’m afraid of changing global norms and breaking something now or in the future, perhaps there is a more careful or specific approach

Will there be a way to directly prevent caching with predefined ESI nonce?
