quotes no working | WordPress.org

I am using the 2024 theme and am trying to add quotes around text. However, when I select the “quote” block, there are no quotes aroung the text I write, just a white background. Swiched to the 2021 theme but that just put vertical lines around the text. I want to put standard “quotation marks” around text.
