Renewal payments not going through

Our customers have subscriptions enabled with woocommerce subscriptions with Paypal Payments plugin as payment method. The initial payments went ahead successfully but the renewal payments are not going through.

I am getting the error “Unable to change subscription status on hold’ for the renewal orders”

I went through the documentation regarding the paypal subscriptions and saw that we need to enable vaulting that’s fine we will do it but for the payments that didn’t went through what is the course of action we need to take to charge those payments and what is the ideal solution for those due payments?
