Web Developer


Function:

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Web Developer leads the functional and technical design, development and maintenance for all of Fenway Health’s online properties to help advance our mission of caring and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community, people living with HIV, and other marginalized groups. Our online properties include Fenway’s Award-winning website, fenwayhealth.org, as well as a variety fundraising and programmatic sites. The Web Developer works in close cooperation with members of the Communications team and other Fenway staff that support the work of its various departments and divisions.

Representative Duties:

Design, Develop, and Maintain Web-Based Solutions Including Websites and Applications in Support of Fenway’s Mission and the Fenway Brand.
*Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain web-based solutions (including websites, applications, and email communications) that support Fenway’s mission-oriented goals and marketing, fundraising, and communications efforts
*Maintain a strong working knowledge of a variety of content management systems, as well as web design & development software, web applications and components, and web hosting management tools
*Build and deploy user interface features and workflows that optimize user experience and work as seamlessly as possible with existing infrastructure and backend systems.
*Support search engine optimization and Google Analytics analysis and reporting
*Provide internal technical support for web-based solutions, including websites, applications, email communications, social media, and/or blog posts
*Ensure consistency and adherence to Fenway Health brand guidelines across all platforms
*Maintain a working knowledge of current and emerging web development languages, technologies, and techniques

*Maintain professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintain and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
*Serve on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested
*Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements:
*Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience preferred
*Minimum of 1 – ۲ years of professional web management experience
*Strong front-end web development skills & ability to code HTML5, CSS3, PHP, jQuery & JavaScript
*Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions
*Experience working with a mobile-first approach
*Experience working with various Content Management Systems, including WordPress & Squarespace
*Proficiency in Adobe applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Dreamweaver is preferred
*Experience collecting and analyzing user and performance data from a variety of web and social media platforms
*Experience with API integrations a plus
*Excellent interpersonal skills
*Ability to manage multiple projects & deadlines, problem solve, and to be solution-oriented
*Ability to work harmoniously with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and staff from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds
